AFC Dunstable

AFC Dunstable are a football club based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, England. The club is affiliated to the Bedfordshire County Football Association.
==History==
The club was established in 1981 as Old Dunstablians, and were a team for old boys of the defunct Dunstable Grammar School. They joined the South Midlands League Division One in 1995, and then when that league merged with the Spartan League to form the Spartan South Midlands League two years later, the club became founder members of the new organisation. The club also share a rivalry with Dunstable Town.
In 2004, the club changed their name to AFC Dunstable. After winning the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two in 2006–07, the club were not promoted and continued as members of the same division for 2008–09. With the club moving to Creasey Park for the start of the 2009–10 season and ahead of the ground being developed up to Step 3 standard, the opportunity came to apply for promotion which was successful and saw the first team playing in Division One. A further promotion to the Premier Division happened in 2011.
AFC Dunstable are an FA Charter Standard Community Club and ran 24 teams during the 2011–12 season. The age groups run from 6 year olds right through to adults. The club also cater for disabled, girls & veteran footballers. The club also runs a junior football academy.
AFC Dunstable entered the FA Vase for the first time in the 2010–11 season and progressed through three rounds but went out in the second round proper. In the following season the club entered the FA Cup for the first time.
Season 2011-12 saw the club grow to 32 teams with the 1st team finishing 3rd in the Premier Division at their first attempt. With the club now running 35 teams, every aspect of football was now covered as they grew to the biggest club in Bedfordshire.
2012-13 saw the 1st team finish 8th in the league and in 2013-14 finished 9th.
Season 2014-15 the 1st team challenged for promotion to the Southern League all season but just coming up short finishing 3rd. They also have a fine run in the FA Vase reaching the 3rd Round.
As at 2014-15 season, 2 ex AFC Dunstable players have progressed into the professional game. Michael Cain who is signed for Leicester City and David Moyo at Northampton Town.
